Microcredit Mechanisms Volunteer

Village Exchange International/Ghana (VEG) seeks dedicated volunteers to support its social microfinance program (MFP). Under the MFP, VEG extends loans to women entrepreneurs, especially young mothers, to help grow their small businesses, build savings, and work toward financial sustainability. Beads and Batik Workshops

Our Beads and Batik project supports alternative livelihoods amongst young women for more than six years now. Come and visit us and learn the African traditional technique of batik making, or have fun creating new jewelry using primarily local recycled materials and various beads produced by artisans in Ghana and around Africa. >>Read More Here

Solar panels and electricity engineering

The goal of the Lady Volta Vocational Training Centre in Electrical Installation and Repair Work ( LVTC) is to train disadvantaged young people, mainly women, to become competent, skilled and professional electricians and solar engineers. At the end of the program, students will be ready to start a successful career in electrical repairs and installation, or solar power engineering. Students will also acquire all the necessary business, management and professional skills to manage a successful business and develop “lifeskills” such as autonomy, professionalism and responsibility. Sexual and Reproductive Health Volunteer

Our program, sponsored by the Ghanaian government, aims to promote safer sexual practices in the population especially among vulnerable groups, to reduce sexual transmission of HIV, to increase the proportion of women and infants completing the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) programme by generating demand for services at the community level, and to carry out HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC). VEG is responsible for implementing this project, whose purpose is reduce new HIV infections through Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) activities, in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region. Volunteers with communication skills, knowledge of the HIV/AIDS issue, social workers, desktop publishers to make posters and brochures, young and older, are all welcome to support our team and its group of peer educators  . >>Read More Here
