My experience with VEG was so much greater than I could have expected. As a loan officer in DC, I wanted to put my skills towards a more important issue like microcredit in developing countries. VEG gave me an opportunity to dive into microcredit and I could not have been more appreciative. I was put to work from the first day, visiting a microcredit participant who explained to me how her business grew with a microcredit loan – I knew from the first day that my experience with VEG in Ghana would be invaluable. The VEG staff was very welcoming and made me feel as if I had been a part of VEG for years! In addition to the volunteer work, I was able to experience living in Ho and able to travel around the Volta Region and explore its wonderful culture. Christiane is running a terrific NGO and I would definitely consider coming back!
